13th Annual PCEC Charity Golf Tournament
This past month we held our thirteenth annual charity golf tournament and auction benefitting the Prostate Conditions Education Council (PCEC). We are so pleased to announce that this year, with the help of our players and sponsors, we were able to raise $32,000.00 to benefit the Prostate Conditions Education Council and their lifesaving education and screening initiatives.
Why We Choose the PCEC
While prostate cancer is nearly 100% survivable if detected in the early stages, almost 34,000 men will still die from it this year alone.
Screening is the only way to detect prostate cancer early and this year was especially important to us, because due to COVID-19 nearly 23,000 men experienced a missed or delayed diagnosis of prostate cancer. We want to thank our sponsors and everyone who participated in the event and helped raise money for this amazing cause.
Each year at our tournament we ask anyone who wants to participate to get their blood drawn to test for any abnormal PSAs (Prostate-Specific Antigen), abnormal Lipids (Cholesterol, Trigs, HDL & LDL) as well as abnormal glucose. This year we were glad to have 50 people participate and get tested.
Did You Know?
The odds of getting a hole in 1 is 12,500. The odds of getting prostate cancer is 1 in 8.
Over 248,530 new cases of prostate cancer will be diagnosed this year in the United States.
